A circle of sand, fog and the highly emotional piece of music ‘Le Sacre du Printemps’: The five crumpers do not need more to tell this story of self-empowerment.
The multi-award-winning dance piece ‘A Human Race’ shows a bitter struggle for freedom, participation and recognition. The dance here becomes an expression of anger and resistance, but also of cohesion and community.
The piece spans an arc between the first years of the 20th and 21st centuries. Between Krump, a raw, energetic dance style that emerged on the streets of Los Angeles in the early 2000s in response to racism and police violence, and Stravinsky's music from 1913, whose modern power can't be escaped even today.
