Residence "Between the generations"
Artistic research in the field of dance for the youngest, cooperation with Feld Theater for young audiences
We are pleased to have won the FELD Theater für Junges Audience as a cooperation partner for a first residency offer in our field of action “Artistic Research”. The FELD Theater's expertise in intergenerational and inclusive approaches as well as its participatory research practice involving ‘social actors’ (non-artists) will be central to our joint work from 2026 onwards.
Building on the experiences of the FELD theatre, we offer a short residency that invites Berlin dance professionals to research between the generations. It is about research projects that would like to explore the encounter between very young people (2 to 6 years) and older people/seniors under selected artistic questions.
The residency is a cooperation of the Offensive Tanz für Junges Audience with FELD Theater and FRATZ International / Theater o.N. and is sponsored by TANZPAKT Stadt-Land-Bund and the Berlin Senate for Culture and Social Cohesion.
Selection for residence: Lea Martini and Eva-Martina Günther
We are looking forward to working with the dancer and choreographer Lea Martini and the dancer Eva-Martina Günther as part of our artistic residency from autumn! In the residency, which we implement together with the Feld Theater @feldtheaterberlin, the two artists explore the closeness between young and old people, starting from the idea that the beginning and the end of life do not form a linear path, but meet in a circle. Where do they resemble each other emotionally, mentally and physically? Where do they differ? Where can customary role models be broken up? What can generations learn from each other? What can encounters beyond a grandparent-child relationship look like and take place more naturally? In a kind of circular economy, old and very young people will send each other surprise packages containing music, pictures, texts or movement scores. After that, they get to know each other in real life and get each other moving.

Eva Martina Günther
Eva is 68. She works as a dancer with young and old people, teaches yoga and modern dance. She has been working on various projects for years, including DANCE ON LAB, as well as performing intergenerational pieces.

Lea Martini
Lea works as a dancer and choreographer with people of different ages, and develops collectively pieces and performative formats, among others together with FELD Theater, Uferstudios and skogen Gothenburg. Opening of the residence during FRATZ International 2026
Offensive Tanz und FRATZ invites you to an informal exchange on intergenerational forms of dance for young audiences on Saturday, 10 October 12 to 13:30 at Podewil. This event is also the start of our first residency in cooperation with the FELD Theater for young audiences. The artists Lea Martini and Eva-Martina Günther present their research project ‘Ein kreis. almost rund’. Interested parties are invited to discuss various formats and experiences with intergenerational work together.
