Renae Shadler & Camille Lacadée: ATELIER "Sliding, swinging, playing"

The studio is a participatory experimentation room with KITA children, designed by choreographer Renae Shadler and stage designer Camille Lacadée. In the studio, a fantastic world of great fabrics, movement and sound is created; The materials react to touch and movement and are constantly changing. The children are invited to discover this world in a playful way, to help shape it and to be surprised by it. Together we observe what happens when children follow their curiosity and relate to materials, movement and each other and develop their very own dance.
Renae Shadler is an Australian choreographer and dancer who lives in Berlin. Her work has been presented internationally, including at the PuSh Festival (CA), Tanzplattform Deutschland, Tanz im August, im Radialsystem (DE) and New Baltic Dance (LT), and her choreographic practice ‘Worlding’ examines the relationships between bodies and environments.
Camille Lacadée is a Berlin-based stage designer, costume designer and trained architect working in performance and installation.
The studio is a project within the framework of the artistic research of Offensive Dance with a focus on very young spectators.
As part of FRATZ International 2026, a series of participatory studio sessions with kindergarten children will take place. The event on Sunday 11 October from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. is specially designed for trade visitors and interested adults. You can slip into the role of the co-creating children and then exchange ideas with the artists. By arrangement, you can also visit a studio appointment for daycare centers (dates Thursday, October 8 & Friday, October 9, 10:00 - 11:00; Monday, October 12, 9:30 - 10:30; Tuesday, 13 October, 10:00 - 11:00). Capacities for this are limited.
ACCESSIBILITY
Theater o.N. and FRATZ International have set themselves the goal of making the program more accessible with each festival. Offensive Tanz is once again providing financial support for this year's FRATZ edition. This year, FRATZ International is focusing on T*deaf and neurodivergent audiences and the implementation takes place with a view to these groups of people.

Venue Podewil
The venue Podewil in Berlin-Mitte can be reached by public transport. Directly opposite is the barrier-free underground station Klosterstraße (U2). The building is partially barrier-free: Stepless access is possible via ramps on Klosterstraße or in the courtyard (entrance Orphan Street), all floors are accessed via an elevator. A barrier-free toilet is located on the ground floor. For visitors with mobility restrictions, a marked wheelchair-accessible parking space is available opposite the building. Personal assistance does not need to be registered. You are welcome to bring assistance animals. Please let us know in advance.
