It's a gift to be a dance ambassador!

Review of the year by the dance ambassadors Nele and Ophelia

We both, Nele and Ophelia, received this gift and enjoyed this year as dance ambassadors. As always, we have seen new dance pieces, written articles, organized workshops and met many dancers from the dance scene ….

It's been a year now. I (Nele) remember when I was at a wacking workshop with a friend. I had almost no contact with dancing before, although it has always been a lot of fun for me. Curious as I am, I got into a conversation with Celine and found out that she was active in the project of the dance ambassadors. She told me that they also organized free workshops for young people, watched dance pieces and wrote about these articles. I was very impressed and we exchanged numbers. A month later, I met the others. We met on a cold February day in the café and already discussed other projects. Then the first group photo was taken with me and we arranged to visit a dance performance. I was really excited. It was my first time watching a dance piece and I honestly have to say that I didn't understand that much at the beginning. But over time I found it really nice to interpret and exchange with the others as they understood it. It became particularly interesting when we could really talk to the dancers.

In addition, I also tried out private dance classes, such as Contemporary, and found more and more pleasure in this form of art and expression. I now go to dance training twice a week.

I (Ophelia) heard about the dance ambassadors several years ago, but I never really understood what it was all about. At the beginning of this year I asked the former dance ambassador Valeria directly again. She told me about the concept behind it and thrilled me - so I came through it to us Project … I am very grateful to be part of the dance ambassadors and to constantly look at new dance pieces and thereby get to know both insights into new dance directions and new people from the dance scene. In addition, I enjoy not only writing about the dance pieces, but also organizing workshops for young people.

We are both very grateful that the project “Dance Ambassadors” will continue next year, making the possibility of dancing accessible to young people. We look forward to everything the project will bring next year!
